With a strategic goal to increase market share within the Canadian marketplace, we are seeking an experienced VP of Sales to lead the sales team. In this role you will be directing the overall business development strategy, as well as leading a team of both inside and outside sales professionals. You will also be developing your own strategic accounts, ensuring their logistics needs are being taken care of with a focus on Air & Ocean Freight Solutions.

This position is of significant importance to the organization, and as part of the senior leadership team you will play a key role in helping to shape overall business strategy. Already possessing considerable depth in international freight forwarding, our client wishes to enhance and further develop the partnerships they have with their existing client base, as well as continue to build their presence in this sector.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate will be a strong sales leader, passionate about leading and developing a strong team. In addition, we require a sales professional that can lead by example and set the pace for the team in securing new business.

In order to thrive in this role the successful candidate will have to be an accomplished strategist, an excellent identifier and developer of sales talent, a dynamic leader and an accomplished sales professional. Success will also hinge on a comprehensive understanding of international freight forwarding, with a focus on air and ocean transportation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in Sales / Business Development / Account Management.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience leading a sales team.
  • Strong background in selling a full range of logistics services including Air and Ocean Freight.
  • Experience developing targets, metrics and KPI’s for your team.
  • Experience coordinating RFP and RFQ responses.
  • Completion of post-secondary education.

Compensation

Will be commensurate with experience. It will include a competitive base salary with significant performance based incentive potential, along with a company bonus program, excellent benefits package and car allowance.
